About Us

Girls Who Lift at UVA is an organization where students can learn, grow, and challenge themselves, finding encouragement within an inclusive and uplifting community.

We hold group workout sessions and dinners every day of the week at the AFC. Meetings are casual and flexible— you don’t have to attend every session or even lift! Whether you want to stretch, grab dinner, or chat with friends, these sessions are your time to recharge.

Our mission is to promote accountability and healthy habits while navigating busy student life. If the gym feels intimidating, or you want to meet new people while building consistency, this is the club for you.

General Reminders

Club members leading workouts will typically wait in the AFC lobby for about 5 minutes after the scheduled time. If you don’t see anyone, feel free to jump in with the group.

All lifts take place at AFC.

All dinners take place at OHill.

If you’re planning on coming to a lift or dinner, please put your name down in the schedule document. If there are multiple sessions in a day, specify which one you’re attending.
